This 12VHPWR adapter could save your Nvidia GeForce RTX gaming GPU from melting

Melting 12VHPWR cables on Nvidia GeForce graphics cards have been an ongoing issue since the company's flagship RTX 4090 card launched, but one Chinese company thinks it finally has the solution. A seller on TaoBao, an online shopping platform, is advertising an angled adapter that features both temperature and power draw on a tiny display, helping you get ahead of any issues that could cause permanent damage to your graphics card.

Sadly, this adapter is not advertised as compatible with Nvidia's new RTX 5090 or 5080 graphics cards. Instead, only the RTX 4090, 4080, and 4070 are mentioned, although this could just be because the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition cards have the power socket in an odd position, rather than this adapter not otherwise having the capcity to work with those cards.
