Early last year, Zenimax saw over 300 game workers decide to unionize and Microsoft, true to their word prior to the Activision Blizzard mergers, voluntarily recognized the new union. Now, according to an announcement from the CWA, one of Zenimax's companies, Bethesda, is following in their parent company's footsteps.
This time, the union is considered "wall-to-wall" meaning that not just a single type of game worker is covered by the new union. Instead, every single eligible employee will be covered by the CWA. Most of the previous unions we've seen formed were specific to QA employees.
Big news! Workers at Bethesda Game Studios have joined CWA, forming the first wall-to-wall union at a Microsoft video game studio! We are so happy to welcome them into our union. https://t.co/1lz1UiDH0C

Bethesda Games Studios' new union will represent over 240 employees at multiple studios, and has been recognized voluntarily by Microsoft. A spokesperson for Microsoft told VentureBeat, "“We continue to support our employees’ right to choose how they are represented in the workplace, and we will engage in good faith negotiations with the CWA as we work towards a collective bargaining agreement.”
