BitCraft Online is getting delayed, and fans have only FromSoftware and Funcom to blame.
Yesterday, the developers of the community-driven sandbox free-to-play MMORPG — which has been in development over the past seven years — announced that the Early Access launch has been rescheduled from May 29 to June 20. Why? Because Elden Ring: Nightreign drops on May 30 and Dune: Awakening releases on June 5. The team said they hope this short delay will give the game more visibility so it’s not competing with either of these major titles.
That being said, BitCraft’s Gameplay Preview will still become available on May 29, as originally planned. Those who requested access through Steam will get the chance to test out the preview build through the weekend.
Also, in case you missed it, earlier this week the developers revealed a move to open source the game’s code following its Early Access launch. While game assets like art and music will remain proprietary, players and developers will be able to inspect, modify, and host their own versions of BitCraft.
