Blizzard Shares Full BlizzCon Schedule As StarCraft Rumors Continue To Circulate

While many game developers are just making their way home from GamesCom and sharing all the videos and announcements from the convention, Blizzard is preparing to kick off their own con in a little under two weeks. On September 12, BlizzCon will officially be underway in Anaheim with the opening ceremony kicking off at 10:30 Pacific time.

Of course, fans of Blizzard’s various games can expect to get information on things like the future of their favorite game, be able to sit on on panels focusing on different topics about game development, community, and the like, and take in some esports activity throughout the weekend. That said, with any luck, the highlight will be the announcements made during the opening ceremony.

Perhaps, if we get really lucky, we’ll find out some real information about the rumored StarCraft succesor that pops up in our feeds every now and again. For example, a post shared on MassivelyOP earlier today stated that reports from a Korean outlet are that Nexon and Blizzard are “on the verge” of finalizing a contract for the popular IP that will grant Nexon the “rights to developer a successor to the existing StarCraft series”.

As stated above, this is still just a rumor. It may be some time before we see if anything comes of it. And then again, we could find out on September 12. In the meantime, those planning to attend BlizzCon or watch it via livestream can begin planning what they’ll be watching using the schedule on the BlizzCon site. The first day is already backed with dev panels on Overwatch and WoW as well as Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm esports acivities.
