Embers Adrift famously has no cash shop, microtransactions, loot boxes, NFTs, or any sort of in-game monetization. It does offer an optional subscription. It is a PvE-only game with tab-target gameplay, featuring 3 base roles that branch out into 9 specializations.
The Embers Adrift team has been hard at work adding quality-of-life features to the game recently, with things like decreased XP needed, rare items dropping more often, and kill counts being reduced for certain activities.
Free trial players will have full access to three different zones in Embers Adrift and no time limit on how long they can play in those zones.
I've never taken the time to try out Embers Adrift before, but now that there's a free trial I am out of excuses and am definitely interested in giving it a look over the week or so.
