Heliostat Launches In Destiny 2 With Exotic Axe, Power Changes, And Arms Week

This Week in Destiny focuses on Destiny 2's introduction of Heliostat, a new Exotic Mission that sends Guardians deep into a rediscovered Warmind bunker. Players of the free-to-play shooter can now wield Wolfsbane, the first-ever Exotic Axe, capable of being enhanced through hidden secrets scattered within the mission. Heliostat’s first run is locked to Normal difficulty, but completion grants a Power bump to all fireteam members. Afterward, it becomes fully customizable through the Pinnacle Ops tab. Bungie confirms that all Wolfsbane Intrinsics and one Exotic catalyst are currently available, with additional catalysts arriving next week.

They also addressed major progression updates for Destiny 2: Renegades. Bungie announced that Seasonal Power will now carry over from Season 27 into Season 28, eliminating the Seasonal Power reset. The Power cap remains at 550, and Unstable Cores will persist across seasons. On October 14, Update 9.1.5.1 introduces a Power catch-up mechanic to bring all players to 300 Power, along with improved reward structures, easier difficulty scaling, and refined matchmaking for the Portal. Challenge modifiers will no longer raise Power; instead, each difficulty now has fixed Power deltas ranging from 0 to -30.

Additionally, Arms Week returns with Shotguns as the theme. Players can earn the Trachinus Stasis Rapid-Fire Slug Shotgun, alongside new “Kinda Illegal” mods like Unstable Shells, Illegal Trigger, and Aftershock.

And, Trials of Osiris lands on Javelin-4 this weekend, with the Auric Disabler, a Strand Precision Auto-Rifle, as the featured reward — boasting strong PvP and PvE perk combinations such as Slice/Sword Logic and Firefly/Tear.
