MMOBOMB
Oct 14, 2024
Following up on a previous announcement that they were reshaping Pax Dei, Mainframe is back with details on how that’s going to happen. Specifically, the company is making changes to the MMORPG’s geography, adjusting everything from biomes to resources. The changes are so big the company will be forced to do a wipe as part of the related content update.
To offer players insight into these changes, which are based on feedback from Early Access, the Mainframe team shared a Spotlight post on the game’s site noting changes in terrain structures – making mountains and valleys a bit easier to traverse and giving them a more open feel. Cliffs are less steep, more mountain passes have been added, and even fall damage has been adjusted.
In other places, the devs are reworking rock formations to make building easier. It’s their way of encouraging players to build cool structures in more places. Roads are being improved as well and will include more variety ranging from dirt to paved roads.
While they’re at it, the team will be pushing updates to make biomes more interesting and distinct.
On another note, the devs also want to make it easier for players to get into adventuring earlier in the game, so they’re making changes to PvE encounters. This includes introducing enemy camps in provinces, some of which are designed for solo or duo play. Entry-level cave dungeons are being introduced and enemy distribution is being rebalanced.
Effectively, players can look forward to some big changes in the near future. Hopefully, they’ll address many of the points players have made in their feedback.
