The Steam Community Market for MapleStory is officially shutting down on Wednesday, August 27, during scheduled maintenance.
Players of the free-to-play MMORPG who have used this feature need to act quickly to avoid losing their items permanently. Nexon urges everyone to claim all items from their Steam Inventory, cancel any active listings, and transfer items back into their in-game inventory before the closure. After the deadline, any unclaimed items left in Steam Inventory will become irretrievable, and refunds will no longer be available.
Until the shutdown date, players can still buy items, list items for sale, cancel listings, and transfer items from the Steam Community Market. Transfers must be done through the Maple Administrator NPC, who will also handle refunds moving forward. Once the update goes live, NPC Oswell will be removed, and all related services will be consolidated under the Maple Administrator in the Event Hall.
A special refund process has been outlined for Oswell’s Scissors of Karma. If players have either unused Scissors or items with the effect applied, they can receive Maple Point Coupons worth 3,000 or 6,000 points, depending on the original purchase price. However, refunds will only be issued if the Scissors or affected items are in the character’s in-game inventory when speaking to the Maple Administrator. Items stored in the Cash Shop or Item Storage must be claimed first, and anything left in the Steam Inventory will not qualify for a refund.
