Marvel Snap fans are eating good for the foreseeable future.
The card game’s developer Second Dinner recently raised $100 million in investment funding. This money will primarily be utilized to further develop the mobile card game and to explore new titles. The studio will maintain its independent status.
“We want to make smart, targeted bets that leverage our strengths and give us space to build fresh, innovative games that we love and that we want to share with millions of players,” COO Matt Wyble told GamesBeat. “Having the right resources in place allows us to focus on the biggest opportunities without distraction.”
He also hinted at the studio's ongoing projects, indicating that early prototypes are generating enthusiasm comparable to the early days of Marvel Snap. Wyble also said Second Dinner’s new intellectual property has a dedicated team collaborating with a renowned artist to bring their vision to life. Details about these projects are currently under wraps, but the studio is eager to share more in the future.
Besides the good news, there's a new patch for the game, too. Notable changes include balance updates to cards like Loki and Ms. Marvel, with the latter receiving adjustments to its ongoing effect. The patch also introduces functionality changes, such as dissociating transformed cards from their original deck, impacting characters like Quinjet. Additionally, several bug fixes and improvements to the game's user interface were implemented in response to player feedback.
