We don’t have a date for the launch of Aion 2’s pending Early Access, but it has to be getting close if NC is dropping “what to know” type posts on the free-to-play MMORPG’s website – particularly since we know the game will be fully launching in September. Recently, NC posted a Team Update titled “Early Access: How It Will Work” in which they provided information on the differences between Early Access and Launch servers, dungeon party matching, and more.
As you’d expect, the big difference between the two servers is that Early Access is only open to those who bought a Founder’s Pack – to start with, anyway. These servers will be launched in waves. In September, new servers will be opened to accommodate the new players. The Early Access servers will also be made available to new players at this time. Although, I’d imagine it will be easier to get a spot on the newly launched servers. Either way, once things settle, server transfers will be available. So if you don’t manage to get on one with your friends right away, you should be able to later.
The post also provides a bit of information on matching for dungeons and PvP. In the case of dungeons, party matching will be region-wide with the pool including the launch servers when they drop. AS for PvP, we already know Elyos and Asmodian’s won’t be playing together except for when they meet up in the Abyss for PvP. Once the game launches completely, PvP matching will endeavor to pair servers that match in power.
As for the game’s market, the game will have two: a server market and a cross-server market. The first is local and available when early access kicks off. The second will open sometime after release and will allow trades across all servers in a region.
