To ensure a stable server ecosystem, Starry Studio has been doing World merges on Once Human’s permanent servers. But, as they have realized that part of the reason players of the free-to-play shooter play on permanent servers is because they prefer the stability those servers provide, and that the mergers can disrupt that, they have decided to stop doing them. That is, after they do one final merge.
The final permanent server World merge will take place on September 10. It will affect servers with a high number of Worlds and also include performance optimizations. Following that, players will be able to voluntarily move to their preferred World.
At the same time, the devs will be making changes to the sign-up cooldown rules for permanent servers or servers in a settlement phase. The rule now will restrict a character from being able to hop to a different server within 12 hours of them signing up for a server. The cooldown period will go up each time a character is moved between servers within a one-month period, with the cooldown period resetting on the first day of the month.
