Whoops! It appears that a PlayStation Store advertisement for an upcoming collaboration in Overwatch 2 wasn't exactly supposed to go live just yet. While the original post was later hidden, it was a bit too late as gaming fans, like XOXLEAK and Llamalaxy on X (formerly Twitter), already had the images saved and shared.
The F2P hero shooter is no stranger to collaborations. In fact, they've starting picking up more speed on that (and other) fronts, likely due to the pressure that rival game Marvel Rivals has been putting on the team. In just the last 8 months, Overwatch has partnered up for various offerings with Transformers, Avatar The Last Airbender, and LE SSERAFIM, just to name a few.
Should the leak prove accurate, the next crossover coming to Blizzard's shooter will be none other than Capcom's core IP Street Fighter, specifically Street Fighter 6. It's interesting to note that the advertisement image below is specifically being used to promote Overwatch 2's new Stadium mode. Whether the collaboration has any direct impact on that mode, though, isn't known. The image also calls out "mid-season magic," seemingly indicating that we should expect this collaboration soon. The current season started in late April, and is slated to end in late June. "Mid-season" is literally later this month.
Time to keep your eyes peeled for anything official.
