If any band makes sense in a video game crossover, it’s definitely Gorillaz. The virtual four-entity band is more or less a long-running crossover project itself, working with musicians from all kinds of genres to create its own brand of music. Add to that the fact that all the members of the band are animated and have fairly in-depth back stories, and you have something fun to work with in a virtual space.
Honestly, it’s kind of a shock that it took this long for Fortnite to do a Gorillaz crossover. But the band is finally coming to the battle royale.
The quartet will be the face of Fortnite Festival Season 10, beginning tomorrow (August 26). Of course, that means a set change, and the main stage now features skyscrapers, a street train, and plenty of graffiti.
Of course, that also means players will get Gorillaz-themed goodies. Some of them, players will have to purchase if they’d like to have them – such as the Noodle and 2D bundle, featuring outfits and accessories. Noodle’s guitar, 2D’s Mic, emotes, back bling, and more. The shop will also feature a “Cling Eastwood” Jam Track.
In the Season 10 Music Pass, players can pick up two outfits: Russel Hobbs and Murdoc. The pass also includes goodies like Murcoc’s cape and bass guitar. Although, the bass is a premium item. A more detailed list of items found in the Music Pass is available on the Fortnite site.
