Redfall Game Update 3 brings with it a new UV-powered sniper rifle called the Basilisk, as well as improvements to AI/NPCs, gameplay, performance, and much more. The list of updates and changes is long, so we'll hit the highlights.
The Basilisk is a UV-powered sniper rifle that charges the first bullet in a full magazine with UV power that can petrify vampires. It can drop from anywhere Unrivaled weapons are eligible, and has a higher chance to drop from Bellwether-themed enemies.
Shrouds, Angler, and Siphons will now only spawn in the open world once players have either hit a specific level or completed certain missions. Their abilities have been rebalanced as well.
The devs have also refined the search areas of several missions in Redfall and added more spawn points to keep players from being blocked from respawning after death. NPC patrol paths have also been improved.
The User Interface has been improved with better visibility of player locations on the map and individual volume controls for voice chat.
Performance and stability have been improved with several changes including an improvement to traveling through the Deathmist which should no longer cause performance issues. They have also resolved an issue with Game Settings not persisting between game launches, and the game will save window locations between game launches. There are also various fixes related to FPS drops and stuttering.
