Top 10 Collectible Card Games You Should Be Playing

Are you looking for a great collectible card game you can play digitally? Well then, you're in luck because we're looking at 10 of our favorite digital CCGs in this list. Some can be played on Steam, others on mobile, and some anywhere you want to play. Let's get started.

Hearthstone

We'll start with the big dogs, and Hearthstone is definitely a big dog. Hearthstone is free-to-play and builds upon the existing lore of the Warcraft series by using characters, relics, and other elements from the franchise. If you're interested in CCGs odds are you've played Hearthstone, but if not you're missing out on one of the biggest game phenomenons over the past few years. Hearthstone is available on iOS, Android, and PC via the Battle.net app.

Magic: The Gathering Arena

Magic: The Gathering; the grandaddy of 'em all. M:tG fans span the entire globe, and the digital version is a great way to get your CCG fix when you can't make it to your local games store. Magic: The Gathering Arena is available on iOS, Android, Steam, and direct download for PC.

Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge

If you'd rather have your CCG set in the grim dark future of Warhammer 40K, then you should check out Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge. It is available on iOS, Android, and Steam. The game brings together the major factions of the Warhammer 40,000 universe as digital cards to collect and do battle with.

Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap has proven to be a very popular digital CCG with fans, bringing your favorite Marvel superheroes and villains to the battlefield. Available on iOS, Android, and Steam, Marvel Snap has unique mechanics and games can be played in as little as 3 minutes.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

I didn't forget about you, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. There are several digital versions of Yu-Gi-Oh! card games out there, but we're choosing Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel since it's currently sitting as the top "seller" (it's F2P) on Steam.  Fast-paced battles and a dynamic soundtrack set the stage when it's time to D-D-D-DUEL!

Aeon's End

Here's one for my tabletop fans out there. Aeon's End is an immensely popular tabletop deckbuilding game where players lead a team of mages against the Nameless in a magic-based card battle system. There are multiple win-and-loss conditions, and each fight feels truly unique. Plus it's a break from your usual PvP battle since it is cooperative. It is available on Steam, iOS, and Android.

Summoner Wars Online

I'll add one more popular tabletop game that has a digital version to the list, and one of my all-time favorite games, Summoner Wars. Don't confuse this with the mobile gotcha game of a similar name, Summoner Wars features armies of creatures led by Summoners who are represented on the battlefield by cards that move around much like miniatures in a skirmish game. Take out your opponent's Summoner to emerge victorious. You can play on iOS, Android, or in your browser.

Minion Masters

Minion Masters is my favorite card-based, lane-pusher, tower defense game. Collect 200+ cards and then send them into battle to try and take out the opponent. Unlike other CCGs, you actually get to see your minions march into battle and fight. Minion Masters is available on Xbox and Steam.

The Elder Scrolls Legends

Whether you want to play solo or against others, The Elder Scrolls Legends could be the CCG for you. The game features a divided battlefield with lanes that deepen your strategy options. There have been plenty of updates to the game, and you can play it for free on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & 5, iOS, and Android.

Gwent

In Gwent, you command mighty heroes from the world of The Witcher in online PvP card battles. Based on the game of the same name that made its debut in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Gwent features more than one way to play. I find Gwent to be quite relaxing and enjoy just sitting back and playing a few games now and then. Just keep in mind that as for support, that ends for Gwen tthis year. You can still play, but there won't be new cards/content to look forward to anymore.
