Today, Standing Stone Games released Update 44.3 in its F2P fantasy MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online. The update brings a level cap increase for the Legendary World of Treebeard to 130. This is the world’s final level cap raise, as it will be closing on August 31, as are the other 32-bit worlds. So, prepare to transfer your character in the near future.
The update also makes changes to several instances and fixes a variety of issues. These are detailed in the patch notes.
The update also marks the return of the Midsummer Festival, which will be kicking off tomorrow, offering players a trip to the tropical island of Futherholm, located in the Shield Isles. The island is home to a crew of former freebooters, who have turned it into a vacation destination of sorts. Of course, players won’t just be hanging out on the island, catching some rays. They’ll also need to help out around the island, that is, if they want to earn rewards.
During the event, content from previous Midsummer Festivals will be available to players. That includes their associated locations.
As for how to get to the island, players will need to visit the City Stables in Minas Tirith to kick things off. Once on the island, players will have access to 35 new quests, a dozen of which are repeatable. There are also gathering quests. Players can also earn two new deeds with titles.
