World of Warcraft fans who, for whatever reason, decided not to purchase the $90 The War Within Epic Edition and get three days of early access don’t have to worry about falling too far behind.
Recently, Production Director Michael Bybee and Senior Game Designer in charge of Delves Sean McCann met with creators to answer their questions and one answer that came up in a few ways had to do with how the team is pacing things to ensure that the early access wouldn’t negatively impact other players when it comes to Mythic raids.
As this is the first time World of Warcraft players have had the opportunity to do an early access period, the devs have taken it into account when plotting out the Mythic timeline. The way things will work is that early-access players will be able to play the story and level up, but they won’t be able to access much of Mythic Zero or other things that will earn them gear.
Instead, there will be a period after the MMORPG launches where everyone will be able to do Mythic Zero and gear up before the Mythic season goes live. Once the season starts, players will be able to do a heroic week and be able to unlock the rest of the content.
Ideally, players should all be on the same footing when the season launches. That said, those who didn’t purchase the Epic Edition will have to work harder to get there. More details on the devs' plans for launch, as well as answers about the testing periods and more, can be found on WoWHead.
