Start marking your calendars, we have a date for the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail launch. Today, during the PAX East “The 10 Year Adventure of Final Fantasy XIV” panel, Yoshi-P dropped the date for the MMORPG's Dawntrail expansion as well as the Early access date, and we have good news and bad news.
The good news... We have just a little over two months to wait. The bad news... If you’re planning on playing the Elden Ring DLC, Yoshi-P is giving you one week to play it before the Early Access launch on June 28. It seems that’s also how much time he’s giving himself as well. The team actually wanted to start Early Access sooner, but they thought it would be nice to give everyone time to play Elden Ring First.
As for the official launch. It’s only a few days after Early Access on July 2. If you want in on the Early Access, you’re going to need to preorder. Those begin next week, on March 26 (9:00 AM Pacific). Preordering will also get you some extra goodies.
Following the date announcement, Yoshi-P also showed off the physical Collector’s Box, and it has some really nice goodies. Those lucky enough to own it will have a Viper statue, a cloth map of the game world, including the New World, a journal, and other things. The box can be bought on its own or as part of the Collector’s Edition, which includes special digital items such as a new mount(depending on which platform you’re playing on). Details explaining the kind of complicated version lineup will be made available via a special page on the Lodestone.
Another bit of important information Yoshi-P made available is the adjustment to the Windows System requirements. Specifically, the CPU minimum requirements will now be the Intel Core i7-7700 or higher.
On an additional note, the Final Fantasy XVI crossover is just a little over a week away. Prepare to set some time aside on April 2. Note that if you haven’t played XVI yet, they’ve taken that into account and the crossover will only dip into the first part of the game.
