You can choose which contracts to accept, where to travel, whom to hire or fight, and how to train and equip your men. The world is procedurally generated, offering a unique campaign each time you play. Battle Brothers consists of two main layers: a strategic world map and a tactical combat layer. On the world map, you can explore freely, taking contracts for money, searching for loot or enemies, and resupplying in towns. This is also where you manage your company, level up your mercenaries, and equip them. When you encounter hostile forces, the game switches to a tactical map for turn-based combat.
