The game blends turn-based tactics with casual gameplay elements to create an experience that fuses professional chess software with combat-oriented mechanics. Players control animated fantasy figurines in magical worlds where they execute skillful maneuvers on a three-dimensional board. Richly crafted army sets and six different gameboard environments provide significant visual complexity throughout the matches. The core concept merges traditional chess principles with upbeat fighting simulations, resulting in a strategic action experience distinct from standard board games. At the start of a match, opponents face off on a 3D board set within one of six available environments, each featuring its own landscape and presentation details. Traditional pieces have been redesigned as hulking stone golems and beastly chimaeras to replace standard rooks and knights. The state-of-the-art 3D graphics engine powers the visuals through the incorporation of HDR and particle effects. Two gripping strategy campaigns offer thirty missions with thirty different mission goals for players to complete. An interactive third-person action mode allows users to engage in beat-em-up fights across six unique arenas featuring twelve characters. Challenging PvP duels enable two participants to compete on one PC over LAN or the Internet using the famous Fritz! chess algorithm. This system includes ten distinct levels of difficulty and an extensive opening library to suit participants of all skill levels. Cinematic quality animated sequences pull players into the action while the innovative fusion of chess software and fighting simulations delivers a unique gameplay loop.
