This single-player title supports controller input as players journey through the desolated kingdom of Penumbra to discover hidden secrets within this long-forgotten land. The game features mystical temples where mastering movement is essential for surviving increasingly difficult 3D platforming challenges. Players slash their way through daunting adversaries while encountering survivors and taking on strange quests to collect valuable items. Hardcore platforming elements require leaping through deadly traps and navigating gradually demanding challenges that test mastery of movement mechanics. Beyond Penumbra, a lost land called The Void offers abstract platforming challenges accessible via entrances found throughout the world. The haunting world of Penumbra contains unique areas filled with diverse enemies, sharp 3D obstacles, quests, and collectibles for discovery. Peculiar survivors who endured the kingdom's fall aid the journey to unlock valuable rewards scattered across the environment. Collectibles include items that can be looted, collected, sold, traded, or purchased within the game economy. Combat-platforming boss fights allow players to partake in intense battles against dangerous enemies with distinct fighting styles. Upgrades such as improved swords, valuable amulets, and new abilities transform the player into a fierce fighter capable of handling lurking dangers. The main story takes approximately 10 hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to about 13 hours. A completionist run focusing on all content also requires roughly 13 hours of gameplay.
