About

Chaser is a first-person shooter developed by Cauldron and published by THQ Nordic, released on July 16, 2010. The game offers both single-player and multi-player modes within its sci-fi setting. Players take on the role of John Chaser, a man without memory or friends who awakens on the spaceship H.M.S. Majestic. He must survive a bloody conflict while trying to determine his own identity amidst extraordinary fighting abilities that raise more questions than answers. The narrative begins with him being sought by men in black uniforms before moving from the ship to Montack City on Earth. The journey continues from Montack City to Siberia and concludes on Mars, where the trail ends and the truth is hoped to be found. The story takes place in 2044 when the UN establishes MARSCORP under the leadership of Samuel Longwood. Over time, the UN loses control of MARSCORP due to non-transparent licensing policies that allow Longwood to create vassal relations between corporations and the committee. This arrangement grants companies additional rights and licenses, making Longwood and his consortium extremely wealthy while dissenting voices challenge his authoritarian policy. The plot includes intrigue, twists, and believable characters as these events unfold. Gameplay features fast-paced action supported by over a dozen weapon types. A skill-heavy bullet time mode is available to assist during combat encounters. Cutscenes are presented throughout the experience to support the story and its presentation. The main story length is approximately 15 hours, which remains consistent when including extras. Completing all aspects of the game takes about 16 hours total.
