About
Darkout is an indie action adventure title developed by Allgraf and published by KISS ltd. The game was released on December 4, 2013, and offers a single-player experience. Players find themselves crashed alone on Illuna, a world humanity attempted to abandon. Survival depends on navigating harsh biomes that are generated procedurally for each session. The core gameplay loop involves building shelters, crafting weapons, and researching new technologies within the sandbox environment. Daylight never brings full security due to a world constantly shrouded by clouds. Light-sensitive creatures become most active during the night, forcing players to rely on twilight periods for minor safety. These windows allow time to explore, rebuild structures, and gather necessary resources. History in Darkout is revealed through logs left behind by previous inhabitants of the planet. Some entries are recent, while others reference long-extinct native species that once lived on Illuna. These documents provide context regarding the events leading to the current state of pandemonium. The game includes a completionist playtime option that spans approximately 26 hours.
