About

Decay: The Mare is a psychological horror adventure developed by Shining Gate Software and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Released on February 13, 2015, this indie title offers a single-player experience for fans of the genre. The game serves as a homage to classic titles such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Phantasmagoria, The 11th Hour, and Gabriel Knight. It combines high-tension storytelling with 3D environments in one cohesive package that includes an exclusive third chapter. The narrative follows Sam, an addict who enters the institution known as Reaching Dreams to overcome his drug problem and improve his life. During the first night at the facility, events turn against him, trapping him in an endless nightmare. Players will spend approximately three hours completing the main story, while a completionist run takes about four hours total. The package also includes extra content that concludes Sam's journey within this dark setting.
