About
DESOLATE is an action, adventure, and RPG title developed by Nearga and published by HypeTrain Digital. The game was released on January 17, 2019, offering a first person horror survival experience set in an open world. Players can choose to form a research team with up to four others or explore the mysteries alone. The narrative takes place two years after a large-scale disaster of unknown origin struck Granichny Island. The New Light conglomerate attempted to cover up this catastrophic event before launching a massive campaign to address its consequences. Volunteers, many of whom have never held a weapon, are sent to research paranormal activities and gather information on the island. These individuals face threats ranging from monsters and madmen to supernatural anomalies and impossible weather patterns while undertaking dangerous tasks. The main story runs for approximately 13 hours, with the full experience including extras extending to around 30 hours. For those seeking a complete run, the completionist length reaches about 51 hours. The game supports both single-player and co-op modes, allowing users to play through the campaign independently or with friends.
