About
Despotism 3k is an indie strategy and simulation title published and developed by Konfa Games, released on November 8, 2018. The game features single-player gameplay where players assume the role of a tyrant fighting against an enslaving AI. This conflict allows players to exploit human resources to extract power and construct their own empire. Management involves tracking workers to prevent exhaustion and hunger, though weaker individuals can be sent to the Bioreactor. The experience combines resource management mechanics with rogue-lite elements, a dramatic plot, and numerous pop culture references. Humor is woven throughout the narrative, ranging from dark jokes to an abundance of cultural nods. The main story takes approximately three hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to fourteen hours. Players seeking full completion can expect around twenty-eight hours of gameplay due to randomly generated events. Every walkthrough presents unique scenarios, and each failure results in a fatal outcome requiring a restart.
