About
Detention is an Indie Adventure game. It was released on January 12, 2017. The game is published by RedCandleGames and AGM PLAYISM and developed by RedCandleGames. Players can enjoy Detention as a single-player experience. The game is set in the 1960s during a time of martial law in Taiwan. It takes place at Greenwood high school, a remote mountainous location where two students find themselves trapped. The school has become unsettling and haunted by evil creatures. To escape, players must explore the campus, solving puzzles and encountering ominous objects. Detention incorporates religious elements based in Taiwanese/Chinese culture and mythology. The game draws on Taoism, Buddhism, and Chinese mythology to tell a unique and terrifying story. Players navigate the main characters through a 2D atmospheric horror side-scroller. The main story takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Adding extras increases the playtime to 4 hours. A completionist playthrough will take around 4 hours.
