About
Divekick 2-Pack is an indie action title published and developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, released on August 20, 2013. This game distinguishes itself as the world's first two-button fighting game by removing directional movement from the control scheme. Players interact with the system using only two inputs to execute all necessary actions within the match. The core mechanics rely on a Dive button that makes the character jump straight up and a Kick button that sends the character flying foot-first at a downward angle. Pressing the Kick input while grounded allows the player to jump away from their opponent instead of attacking. These specific moves form the basis for gameplay that emphasizes mind games, spacing, timing, and quick reactions. The package includes two extra playable characters available in the game: Fencer from Nidhogg and Johnny Gat from Saints Row. The title supports both single-player and multi-player modes for those looking to test their skills against others or alone. By focusing on a limited set of inputs, the design aims to show how much depth exists within a single move structure.
