Divine Divinity is an action role-playing game developed and published by Larian Studios that was released on July 5, 2012. The title appears in PC GAMER's list of the Top 100 PC Games Of All Time from 2012 and features a single-player experience set in the fantasy world of Rivellon. Players assume the role of a prophesied Chosen One guided by the wizard Zandalor to unite seven races against the Black Ring cult. This narrative arc aims to prevent the birth of the Lord of Chaos through cooperation among the various factions. The adventure offers an enormous world to explore alongside thousands of items for investigation, trade, and use. Combat is designed as hack-and-slash action where players fight dozens of different enemy types in fast-paced encounters. If the battle becomes hectic, the game allows users to pause at will to review the battlefield or consume health potions. Beyond fighting, the gameplay includes interaction with a vast number of objects that can be combined into new items like potions or poisoned weapons. Character development is classless, allowing players to start as a warrior, wizard, or survivor before freely choosing among 96 skills regardless of their initial class. The main story length is approximately 32 hours, while the main story plus extras extends to about 46 hours. A completionist playthrough can reach up to 71 hours depending on how thoroughly players investigate the game's content. The soundtrack features melodies composed by Kirill Pokrovsky, who has won IGN's Outstanding Achievement in Music award twice. This re-mastered version supports Windows 7 and higher resolutions for modern systems.
