About
Dreams of Desire: Definitive Edition is an indie visual novel and RPG developed and published by Lewdlab, released on October 20, 2021. The game falls into the first person and casual genres, offering a single-player experience where you assume the role of a male protagonist. Your character faces unfortunate circumstances that make it appear he must attend a military academy against his will. Since he never wanted to be a soldier, he discovers an old book about the ways of the mind instead. This newfound knowledge allows him to alter the course of his life, though the specific price for doing so remains part of the narrative mystery. The story centers on themes of power, corruption, and mystery as you navigate your journey through memorable characters, many of whom are women. Your decisions hold significant weight within Dreams of Desire, determining which of the seven different endings you ultimately reach. Along this path, the game includes numerous steamy encounters that contribute to the overall experience. You will also encounter point-and-click minigames designed to add exploration and interactivity without causing annoyance. A sandbox-style minigame is included to further enhance the gameplay loop. The Definitive Edition expands the base content with Episodes 1 through 12, along with three chapters from The Lost Memories DLC. Players can also access The Holiday Special DLC and dozens of extra scenes within this version. The package contains over 5000 images and more than 460 animations to support the visual storytelling. A scene and extras gallery is available for review, while multiple paths allow characters to create many different playthroughs. The main story takes approximately eight hours to complete, extending to nine hours with extras and ten hours for a full completionist run. This title may contain content not appropriate for all ages or suitable for viewing at work.
