Fallen Aces is an indie action title published by New Blood Interactive and developed by Trey Powell and Jason Bond. Released on June 14, 2024, this single-player game presents a crime noir story set in Switchblade City. The narrative follows one man who uses two fists to investigate the systematic taking down of the A.C.E.S guardians. The gameplay experience is designed to feel like it came straight from the 1990s while maintaining a comic book aesthetic. Players navigate a gritty saga that spans three episodes and dozens of levels with fully voiced, hand-drawn cutscenes. The world serves as a weapon, allowing users to fight with fists, knives, pipes, bats, trash cans, frying pans, pistols, shotguns, nail guns, spear guns, Tommy guns, and more. Level design offers non-linear paths where players can choose between stealth approaches, loud combat, or a mixture of both tactics. The visual style relies on 100% original hand-drawn art and animation without the use of AI tools. Authentic period-era gangster dialogue is woven throughout hundreds of lines to inject personality into the various characters encountered.
