Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is a casual shooter developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Activision. Released on June 18, 2007, this title presents an old school style shooter remixed for the 21st century with next generation graphics. The gameplay features deep mechanics within a grid world where players control a geometric ship. You face off against waves of deadly wanderers, snakes, and repulsars in single-player sessions. Your objective is to survive long enough to set a high score by avoiding spawning enemies and shooting them down for points. You can also fire smart bombs, which destroy all bad guys on the screen when needed. Saving these up helps you manage situations where the going gets really tough. The more bad guys you kill, the higher your score multiplier goes, allowing you to score more points. However, if you die, you lose your multiplier and have to build it up again from scratch. The main story length is five hours, while the main story plus extras extends to ten hours. A completionist playthrough also takes ten hours.
