Goobies is an indie action RPG and strategy title developed and published by Knifes that arrived on July 14, 2023. This casual single-player experience lets you battle thousands of blobs in a roguelike auto-shooter format. You will travel from island to island while defeating bosses and collecting items to increase your power. The gameplay loop involves discovering lag-inducing combos within an endless blobbath setting. The game features procedurally generated levels where difficulty increases as you progress through the challenges. Players can choose from a diverse cast of five Goobies, each offering a unique passive ability and playstyle. There are over 30 collectible items available, many of which provide multiple unique upgrades for your character. Up to twenty game-changing artifacts can be unlocked to redefine both mechanics and visuals during runs. Completing the main story takes approximately six hours, while a completionist run requires around one hundred hours. You can collect Goobie coins from each session to unlock additional power as you advance.
