The story takes place in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu period and follows the young protagonist Chizuru as she searches for her father. Players navigate the drama of the era while interacting with members of the Shinsengumi to uncover dark secrets and personal mysteries. The game offers a single-player experience where users make narrative choices that lead to branching storylines and unlock 30 different endings. There are over 80 hours of content available, including romance, friendship, and betrayal scenarios influenced by player decisions. The main story takes approximately 8 hours to complete, while the full experience with extras extends to 30 hours. A completionist run requires about 41 hours to finish all available content. Twelve bachelors are available as love interests, including six new characters introduced in this installment. Players can view fluid animations and vibrant art that depict a climatic era in Japan's history.
