About
Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.6 Tsumihoroboshi is a single-player visual novel adventure developed by 07th Expansion and published by MangaGamer. The title was released on June 13, 2018, and falls within the mystery genre. Players can switch between English and Japanese languages while viewing either original or renewed character art. The game also includes un-cut contents and supports multiple operating systems. The story takes place in Hinamizawa, a small village in the Japanese countryside where fewer than two thousand people live. In June 1983, the summer heat has arrived earlier than usual, accompanied by cicadas during the day and higurashi at night. For the past four years, someone has died each year while another person goes missing. These deaths and disappearances are connected to local resistance against a now-abandoned dam construction project. A murder from the construction period, which was covered up by local authorities, is being re-enacted annually. The narrative explores whether these events are part of a conspiracy, a coincidence, or perhaps a curse. Someone who was supposed to be present is absent, while someone not expected to be there has appeared. The situation changes so that a person alive last night is now dead, and someone currently here is no longer alive. There appears to be no way to avert this tragedy without giving up on trying. Despite the hopelessness of the situation, the text suggests one should not give up.
