Players explore over 70 unique locations to search for valuable technology and resources while managing survival needs like hunger, thirst, and fatigue. Equipment choices matter significantly, as every armor and weapon type offers distinct tactical virtues and shortcomings that must be weighed carefully. Crafting items and gear is essential for staying alive in this brutal world filled with savage enemies and deadly hazards. The narrative features a non-linear storyline containing points of no return that encourage unorthodox approaches to problem-solving. There are 12 different story endings available, and the player's chosen background influences interactions with NPCs and factions as well as quest outcomes.
