Jalopy is an Indie, Managerial, Adventure, and Simulation game. It was released on March 27, 2018 by Excalibur Games. The game was developed by Greg Pryjmachuk. Players can enjoy Jalopy in single-player mode. The game features a procedurally generated world that players must navigate. They will need to care for their Laika 601 Deluxe motor vehicle, paying attention to its tires, engine, and trunk space. Players can repair and upgrade their car to better handle the challenges of the road. The condition of the car and the cargo it carries will affect its performance. Players can choose to scavenge for scraps or become smugglers to make a profit. Greg Pryjmachuk previously worked on the Formula 1 franchise from 2009 through 2014. The Laika 601 Deluxe is reminiscent of the East German “Trabbie”. New features in Jalopy include a new odometer, spray paints for customization, an overhauled car manual, and expanded scavenging mechanics. New scrap yards have been added to certain routes. The game menu now remembers saved games and displays a background matching the current area. Various environmental details like road conditions, oil spills, and potholes add realism to the game. A new tire system allows players to choose tires suited for different conditions. New music from musician Jeremy Warmsley can be played on the car radio or from a playlist. The game also includes authentic license plates.
