About

Jurassic World Evolution is a strategy and simulation game developed and published by Frontier Developments. It was released on June 11, 2018. Players can take charge of operations on the Muertes archipelago islands. The game allows players to build for science, entertainment, or security interests. Players can bioengineer dinosaurs that think, feel, and react intelligently to their surroundings. They can also play with life itself to give their dinosaurs unique behaviors, traits, and appearances. Players then contain and profit from these dinosaurs to fund a global search for lost dinosaur DNA. The game features deep management tools and allows players to confront challenges on the ground or in the air. Players can expand their islands and choose their own journey in an all-new narrative featuring iconic characters from across the franchise and decades of Jurassic lore. The game is playable in single-player mode.

Besides the fact that there's absolutely no evolution involved in it, Jurassic World: Evolution is a bad game because it's just a bore of a park sim. Sure, the dinosaurs look nice enough, but the process of unlocking new species is beyond tedious and actually running the business is shallow and quickly gets stale. It beats getting mauled by raptors, but after careful consideration, I've decided not to endorse this park.

Initially stunning but lacking the depth and variety to support mammoth playtimes.

Jurassic World Evolution is a mixed experience, at times reveling in its fantasy and becoming bogged down in its own systems in others. If you're a fan of the franchise it's a fun dip into the prehistoric pool, but the water isn't deep enough to satisfy a voracious carnivore.
