The plot centers on Iris, who discovers her younger sister is transferring to her school and moving in for the semester. Although they have never met before, Iris aims to make up for lost time by becoming friends and acting as a dependable older sister. Her plans are complicated when Zoey arrives as a tall young woman who skips class and speaks poorly of others. Zoey displays little respect for authority, particularly regarding Iris's efforts to maintain a friendly relationship.
