Lust Academy - Season 1 is a story-driven 3D visual novel published and developed by Bear in the Night, released on April 11, 2022. The game falls into the indie, adventure, RPG, and casual genres and features single-player gameplay. The project draws inspiration from Harry Potter books and The Magicians TV series. Players assume the role of an eighteen-year-old male who discovers he is a wizard after missing a college sports scholarship due to injury. A letter from Cordale Academy of Magic and Wizardry then offers a new opportunity to explore the magical world. The title includes two distinct game modes: Sandbox and Visual Novel. The Sandbox mode emphasizes freedom of choice and free roam without mandatory grinding elements. In contrast, the Visual Novel mode limits free roam and freedom of choice to focus on comfortable gameplay and story delivery. The main quest involves progressing from an average individual to a legendary mage through studying and solving problems. Players can choose to focus on specific characters or ignore them entirely while completing their respective storylines. Exploration takes place across twenty-five various locations within Cordale, the oldest academy of magic in the New World. The experience includes more than twenty-five potentially romanceable characters and encounters with formidable enemies. Technical aspects include over 250 smooth animations running at 60fps and more than 550 high-quality renders. A custom-made comfortable user interface highlights interactable objects and characters when hovering the mouse over them. The game also features five different mini-games that players can skip at any moment as none are mandatory. The interface provides tools to manage gameplay flow, such as a Calendar tab for fast-traveling to available characters. Users can access extra renders and character information through the Lustagram app on the Phone tab. A Character Info tab is available to assist with understanding various storylines. Every female character and some male characters serve as love interests whose questlines deepen relationships. The game contains adult content, including specific sexual acts and themes involving magical creatures. Additional optional features include LGBTQ+ content and futa/trans content, which are entirely optional and not encountered accidentally.
