About
Mage and Monsters is a strategy title developed and published by Lasse Zacho Malver that launched on October 12, 2022. This single-player experience functions as an active auto battler where players construct an army to fight alongside their own spells. The core gameplay loop requires you to decide whether to strengthen your military might or enhance the potency of your magical abilities. The game includes eight mages, each possessing a special bonus and a starting spell, along with two pure combat mages available for recruitment. You can select from 25 distinct units to add to your forces while facing 35 different monsters throughout the campaign. During battles, eleven unique spells are at your disposal to assist your army in overcoming various challenges. Progression is tracked through an arena and a forest map, both of which contain thirty normal levels followed by five endgame levels. A separate cave map offers random enemies for each level you complete. Players earn Blood Shards by playing the game, which can be spent on Power Ups before starting a new run. The total completionist length for the experience is six hours.
