About
Maize is an indie first-person adventure game developed and published by Finish Line Games, released on November 30, 2016. The sci-fi title follows two scientists who misinterpret a memo from the U.S. Government and create sentient corn. Players explore an abandoned farm and a not-so-abandoned underground research facility to uncover the mysteries surrounding this creation. The single-player experience features a colorful cast of characters within an absurd world where surprises are frequent. Environmental puzzles become increasingly strange as players progress further into the adventure. Alongside these challenges, the narrative asks what the corn really wants aside from a very good nap. The main story takes approximately three hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to four hours. A completionist run also requires about four hours of gameplay. Characters encountered include a small grumpy Russian robot bear and an unhinged corn stalk who acts as a jerk.
