Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a single-player title developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Games. The game was released on September 30, 2014, and has received over 50 Best of 2014 Awards, including Game of the Year, Best Action Game, and Most Innovative Game. Players fight through Mordor to uncover the truth of the spirit that compels them and discover the origins of the Rings of Power. The narrative allows you to build your legend while ultimately confronting the evil of Sauron in this new chronicle of Middle-earth. Beginning December 31, 2020, certain features for the game are no longer available. The Nemesis Forge feature was discontinued, meaning players can no longer transfer their in-game Nemeses from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Additionally, Vendetta missions and Leaderboards have been removed from the service. WBPlay is also no longer accessible, though the epic runes "Orc Hunter" and "Gravewalker" were automatically awarded to all players prior to this change.
