About
Myths of Rules is a text-based adventure puzzle game developed and published by Sugarcane Games. Released on August 30, 2023, this indie RPG offers a single-player experience where players must struggle to survive in a world filled with ghosts and urban legends. The gameplay involves collecting clues to uncover the truth behind the setting and find a way out. Players will encounter a wealth of levels that feature unconventional rules alongside a touch of horror. Interaction within the game takes place by clicking on nodes to explore the world and using items to solve puzzles. Understanding ghost behavior requires reading the rules provided in the text, analyzing their weaknesses, and taking correct actions to survive dangers and crises. The narrative explains that urban legends were born from extreme emotions, deep obsessions, and stories passed from mouth to mouth. These legends manifest as ghosts weaving through tall buildings and turning inhabited places into haunted realms. When a player becomes ensnared in this world, survival depends entirely on following cold, unfeeling rules. The game includes an itch.io demo available at the provided link for players to try before purchase. While the main story length is not specified, the completionist playtime totals eight hours. This duration allows players to fully engage with the mechanics of analyzing weaknesses and navigating the hazardous environment described in the long description.
