About
Neo Cab is an indie adventure RPG and sci-fi title developed by Chance Agency and published by Fellow Traveller. The game was released on October 3, 2019, as a single-player experience set in an automated world. Players take on the role of Lina, who serves as the last human cab driver navigating the streets of Los Ojos. It is your first night driving when your best friend disappears, leaving you to find cash, shelter, and answers. Your only leads come from the diverse cast of characters you pick up in your cab, but getting them to open up isn't always easy. The anarchist punks do not trust you, corporate yuppies do not see you, and the cops will not leave you alone. You must balance honesty, empathy, and your own emotional health to learn their secrets. Each passenger is a puzzle with their own story to tell, regardless of whether you like them or not. Every passenger interaction affects Lina's mood, which influences the choices available during gameplay. As her emotions become more intense, some choices are taken away while others are unlocked. The main story takes about four hours to complete, though adding extras extends playtime to six hours. A completionist run can take up to eleven hours depending on how many stories you explore. The branching narrative includes pax stories written by Leigh Alexander, Kim Belair, Bruno Dias, Duncan Fyfe, Paula Rogers, and Robin Sloan. An original soundtrack by Obfusc accompanies the experience, featuring work previously heard in Monument Valley and House of Cards. You piece together what has happened to Savy as you help Lina navigate the city grid. The goal is to survive long enough to save your friend while staying on the road and staying human.
