About
Ash of Gods: Redemption is a turn-based RPG developed and published by AurumDust and WhisperGames that was released on March 22, 2018. The game blends tactical combat with collectible card game elements within an adventure setting where characters can die permanently during the narrative. Players will find themselves navigating a fantasy world filled with deep lore and memorable figures like Captain Thorn Brenin, Lo Pheng, and Hopper Rouley. The storyline evolves continuously based on player choices, meaning that the death of a character does not end the game but instead propels the plot forward. Every decision made on or off the battlefield carries major repercussions that can alter the fate of the party and change the course of events. Even if your leader falls in battle, the journey continues with previous choices still impacting future developments. Combat relies on mastering class skills and managing limited card supplies rather than using random dice rolls to determine hit chances or damage. The artificial intelligence adapts to your specific playstyle to prevent cheap tactics from succeeding and to ensure a consistently challenging experience. You can unlock new characters, upgrades, and cards through multiplayer competition to customize your strategy against other players on leaderboards. Risk-taking is rewarded in Ash of Gods: Redemption, where you may expend your own HP for a last-ditch attack or take dangerous routes to save resources. The game offers both single-player campaigns and multi-player modes, allowing you to challenge others while building a customized tactical approach. With a main story length of 21 hours and up to 27 hours for completionists, there is ample content to explore within the fantasy genre. The visual style draws inspiration from Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, classical Disney animation, and Soviet studio Soyuzmultfilm works like The Snow Queen. Intricately hand-drawn illustrations and animations utilize rotoscoping techniques to bring every frame to life with incredible detail and a true sense of movement. The original soundtrack features live recordings by professional musicians Adam Skorupa, Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, and Michal Cielecki using traditional instruments.
