About
Beat Cop is an indie adventure simulation developed by Pixel Crow and published by 11 bit studios, released on March 29, 2017. The single-player experience places you in the role of Jack Kelly, a former detective who has been framed for a murder. You must explore the darkest corners of New York to uncover secrets while dealing with a new boss who treats you poorly. Your wife is described as money-focused, and the local mafia wants your head on a plate. Things are complicated in Brooklyn as you navigate these personal and professional conflicts. The game features a nonlinear story with multiple endings that allows players to turn every stone in the city. As you investigate further, you will encounter missing puzzles, though some things should never be brought to daylight. The title embraces the essence of 80s cop shows, letting you be sexier than Sonny Crockett and tougher than Dirty Harry. If witty comebacks do not work, you can always resort to old school ass kicking. The humor ranges from sarcastic remarks to gloom, offering a release for stress in a jungle-like world. Players can expect the main story to take about eight hours to complete. Adding extras extends the playtime to ten hours, while a completionist run requires fifteen hours. You will spend your time writing tickets and reprimanding pedestrians as part of your duties as a beat cop. The setting is portrayed as more like a beast than a city, filled with secrets waiting to be found.

Half enjoyable adventure, half clunky mess, Beat Cop is a talented rookie in need of a long talk with HR.
