This synth-punk roguelike shooter features a vertical tower that evolves procedurally as you ascend toward the top. Your objective is to reach the summit and eliminate the insane owner before your heart explodes from the pressure. The narrative takes place in an alternate version of 1988 following a nuclear cataclysm created by Duncan, the tower architect. The first bomb fell in the summer of that year, leading to endless rain that blacked out the sun by December. Time measurement stopped after this event, and the world has remained stuck in 1988 ever since. Survivors must navigate extreme floods and face deadly traps, homicidal AI, crazed junkies, and colossal Wardens. You can choose from five playable characters, each possessing unique buffs and weaknesses to suit different playstyles. Combat involves shooting, slashing, and dashing while utilizing a selection of fifty unique weapons with distinct effects. Players can arm themselves with guns and laser swords to fight against fire and lasers during intense encounters. Strategic survival requires boosting or cursing oneself by combining thirty distinct buffs and curses found within the game. The experience includes five distinct zones, each presenting its own set of challenges for the player to overcome. The main story lasts approximately five hours, while the main story plus extras extends the playtime to seven hours. Completing all aspects of the game takes about ten hours for a completionist run. You can test your wits and reflexes with a friend in couch co-op mode for a unique roguelike experience. Daily challenges generate new attributes each day to test skills against other players on a global leaderboard.
