About
Lydia is an indie adventure and casual title published by Platonic Partnership and Nakana.io that was released on June 2, 2017. This single-player game presents a grim yet atmospheric visual novel centered on a little girl navigating a world populated by adults. The narrative explores the subject of adult substance abuse through the eyes of a child, drawing directly from the developers personal experiences with the topic. The story unfolds in compact structure and runs for approximately one and a half hours to complete the main journey. Visuals consist of gray-scale hand-drawn graphics created by published graphic novel artist Henri Tervapuro, with only a hint of color breaking through the monochrome palette. A dark, ambient original soundtrack composed by renowned film composer Juhana Lehtiniemi sets the melancholic tone throughout the experience. Players follow Lydia, a sweet little girl who loves her Teddy very much, as she searches for a monster that cannot be seen. The game functions as an emotional journey into the depths of a small childs imagination, similar to other story games in the vein of To the Moon. Completing the main story plus extras takes about one hour, offering a focused experience without requiring extensive time investment.Read moreShow less
