About
Rising Lords is a medieval turn-based strategy game developed by Argonwood and published by Deck13 and WhisperGames. The title was released on January 18, 2024, and falls within the indie, simulation, and strategy genres. Players can choose between single-player or multi-player modes, including co-op options for shared gameplay experiences. The core loop involves sending serfs to fight in your name or allowing them to prosper under your rule. You must collect taxes and resources while dictating rations and overseeing field work to manage your economy. Crafting weapons, raising armies, and building fortified cities are essential tasks for expanding your realm. You can train peasants into knights or deploy them directly onto battlefields to handle conflicts. However, be aware that even humble peasants may revolt eventually if not managed correctly. Unlucky event cards can also change the fate of your realm quickly without warning. Relationships with other lords are fickle and will likely lead you to the battlefield sooner or later. You should prepare a well-rounded army and utilize a card-based skill system to gain an edge against enemies. The main story length is approximately 18 hours, offering enough time to engage in these strategic decisions.
